Halloween Costume Guidelines

Dear Charger Parents,

We wanted to help you prepare for Halloween this year, which falls on Wednesday, October 31st and is a half day with dismissal at 11:30 am. We do welcome students wearing costumes to school, but wanted to let you know our parameters for planning purposes. All costumes should abide by school rules and dress code, and be non-disruptive to the learning environment. Please help us by following these guidelines:

·         No full masks or full-face paintings which obscure identity.  For safety purposes we MUST be able to quickly and accurately identify students. Additionally, please make sure costumes are safe for students to move around in the case of an emergency.

·         Please do not bring any weapons or facsimile weapons- fake knives, swords, guns, etc.  These items will be confiscated and held in the front office if brought to school.

·         Please be kind, sensitive and sensible when picking out costumes, especially considering the diversity and ages of students that we have at Charlotte Wood.

·         Students wearing costumes which disrupt classroom learning may be asked to change into PE clothes or other clothes from home. Decisions on learning disruptions are at the discretion of the classroom teacher and the administration.

·         Please contact any member of school administration at; with any needed questions or clarifications.

Thank you for your continued support!
