Valentines Day 2013 Valentines Day 2013

Charlotte Wood PTA

PTALogo.Green.jpgCharlotte Wood Middle School is an amazing place, with truly remarkable teachers and staff, supportive families, and students who are ready and eager to learn.  Our PTA is a vital component of the Charlotte Wood community.

We often answer questions about what exactly PTA is, and what it does at Charlotte Wood.  PTA is the largest volunteer child advocacy organization in the United States.  At Charlotte Wood, we focus on supporting school activities, legislation and parent education.  The following are just a few of the programs that our PTA provides:

  • Assemblies
  • Awards Night
  • Charger Camp
  • Directory
  • Library Funds
  • Newsletter
  • Red Ribbon Week
  • Staff Appreciation
  • Student Recognition
  • Super Chargers
  • Teacher Funds

How does PTA fund these important activities?  We don't do any fund-raising during the school year, so these programs are all made possible through your generous donations at registration.

If you’d like to find out more about PTA, please come to our association meetings, which are held on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 8:45 a.m. in the Charlotte Wood library.  Please join us – we’re always looking for new ideas and input.  If you have any questions about PTA, contact our President, Tom Moore .

Karen Atkins, CW VP PTA Communications

Thank you CW families for your recent donations to replenish our PTA fund.  Below is an update of our current budget numbers.  This is significant to realize as Fall registration will present PTA with a huge challenge to reach normal funding levels.  Please consider giving now; don’t wait until Fall.  Having the funds now allows PTA to plan more efficiently.  Click here to donate now.

Recent collection drive: $2700

Current reserve: $7284

Budgeted reserve: $18371

Shortfall: $11,000 (60% below)

On behalf of the PTA Executive Board, thank you in advance for your generous consideration.
