Policy on Items Brought from Home
We will not disrupt classes in session to deliver items to students or to call them out of class to retrieve items from the office. Therefore, the following procedures will be followed:
- Any item (lunches, lunch money, PE clothes, forgotten homework, etc.) brought from home will be held in the Attendance office for the student to come pick up. We will make an announcement during the break at 10:45 listing the names of those students who have items waiting for them. If the student does not come, we will call them again during their lunch period.
- Anything dropped off after the student’s lunch period will be held in the Attendance Office for pick-up. It will be the student’s responsibility to come and claim it. We do not deliver anything to the classroom!!
- For any homework assignment that is not claimed, if we can determine what class it is for, we will put it in the appropriate teacher’s box at the end of the day. For any remaining items, we will call the student’s name again at 2:45. If it is still not claimed, we will hold it for the next days’ all call.
Please remind your student that they need to LISTEN to the 10:45 all-call as well as the announcements made in the MPR at lunch. We do our best to make sure students retrieve items dropped off for them…to the point of hunting them down on the blacktop at lunch!! But, sometimes, despite our best efforts, we are unable to locate the student. That is why it is important for the student to listen to the announcements everyday and to come to the attendance office when called.
