Super Charger Program

What are the Super Chargers?

The Super Chargers are Charlotte Wood students in good academic standing, who volunteer within the community throughout the school year.  Students are rewarded for their service with luncheons in Dec., March and late May.

How do I become a Super Charger?

Print out the guidelines and activity form and start volunteering, it's that easy.

The Super Charger program runs on a school year calendar from just before summer to the end of the school year (June 1st - May 31st).  This timing is slightly changed from years past.

All Super Chargers must earn 60% of their total yearly points for Greater Community Service (GCS) work.  GCS points are for groups, organizations and school or community events, etc. where the larger community is being affected.

Super Charger Guidelines 13-14

For the latest up-to-date information on our Super Charger Program, please check out the guidelines which are posted in the Super Charger Locker.

How do I become an

The first academic year you begin volunteering you must earn a total of 340 points during the school year.

One hour of work = 8-10 points.

First year Super Chargers must earn 240 points in order to become "Active" and eligible to participate in luncheons. The remaining 100 points must be earned before June to earn your end of year award. It is suggested that you start earning points early in order to participate in the 1st luncheon.

If you are a returning Super Charger who became “Active” during your first year, you will need to earn 200 points by the end of the school year. You must earn 100 points to become “Active” and another 100 points before June to earn your end of year award.

You must complete all of your required points and have met the minimum Greater Community Service hours in order to receive your end of year award.

There is no cap on the number of points you can earn as a Super Charger.  Special recognition is given to those students who go well above the minimum required points.

NEW REQUIREMENT!

Maintaining “Active” Status

Once you have achieved “active” status, you must also volunteer a minimum of 2 GCS hours before each luncheon in order to maintain your “active” status.

Maintaining your “active” status affects your eligibility to attend Super Charger events.  If you do not maintain your “active” status, you will be removed from the event invite list.  You must put in your time and turn in your activity form at least 2 weeks before the event to be invited, don’t hand me forms at the door expecting to get in.

Failing to maintain your “active” status will not affect your award status.  If you met the total required points and GCS requirement, you will receive your award whether you maintained “active” status throughout the year.  You just won’t be going to the final luncheon.
